Mental Health First Aid
Free Certification Course
This is a hybrid course that involves two hours of independent work online (Modules 1-10), to be completed on the Mental Health Connect site prior to a virtual or in-person interactive lecture. The course focuses on early intervention, early signs and symptoms, worsening signs and symptoms, self-care, and different levels of crisis.
After the lecture, participants will take a final exam to achieve certification.

Who Should Take the Training?
This community-based training could help you or your loved ones potentially save lives. This training is ideal for:
- First responders, including police and EMT
- Teachers

- Employee staff at any organization, to improve the workplace environment
- ER personnel who care for individuals who have recently survived an overdose
- Mobile Recovery Outreach Teams
- Counselors who work in mental health treatment agencies caring for persons experiencing co-occurring opiate use and mental health disorders
- Staff dedicated to caring for individuals experiencing homelessness in shelters, single-occupancy residencies, and other housing units
