Suicide Prevention from Opiates Training
SPOT the Signs aims to educate the community and raise awareness of the mental health aspects of the opioid epidemic with an evidence-based, 45-minute training to recognize the signs of mental health crisis. This training will provide tools for mental health intervention, reduce stigma, recognize suicide risk, and prevent intentional overdose.
Who Should Take the Training?
This is a community-based training that is targeted toward anyone who has experienced, or is actively dealing with, opioid abuse and/or mental health crisis. Our training could help you or your loved ones potentially save lives. This training is ideal for:
- Counselors, recovery coaches, and case aids within inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment facilities
- Individuals in early recovery and/or living in recovery homes
- Community Health Workers
- Family members and friends with a loved one experiencing an opiate use disorder
- Family members who have lost a loved one to an opiate overdose
We also offer the training in additional languages, including Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Bengali and Urdu.
